Not just the better bands... my SIL took my niece to see Katy Perry. Tickets were $150 each! Considering that, $250 for three days at wanee isn't too bad. 8-)

The wifey and I were in Miami yesterday, on the way home I found one of those pig out type burger joints, where they make a dozen different burgers, with all sorts of crazy things on them. A couple burgers, with a side each, and a soda each ran us $40 with the tip. And no, I didn't order the $18- double stack triple bacon peanut butter and sriracha with a backflip and a half twist burger... just a regular one...

Festivals are still your best music value, as others have pointed out, quoting the current single act concert prices above.

Even with this lineup for Wanee, $250 is still a decent value. Phil & the FamBand, is the 'get' for 2018... if you aren't near CA / Philly / Vegas or NYC, your chances of seeing Phil are near zero, for the last few years. Of course if Phil doesn't grab ya, that lessens the attraction. As does the Panic, for usn's who don't care for them. Both acts have a large following, and that is the name of the game for anyone throwing a festival: what acts have the following? Gotta get those admits.

Thus it ever was.

I can only remind folks that, with a rare notable exception (Griffin Anthony? :? ), EVERY artist booked for Wanee, is a worthy act. Might not be your cup of tea, but whatever they book, that band is damn good at the thing that they do. You get quality with the Wanee. There are no posers.

They charged $150 per ticket, $200 for a site, and $200 for golf cart at roots revival. That is $700 to go listen to bluegrass music. Wanee is $1100. Festival prices are too high, but Wanee is a far better value. Hula may be an even better value than wanee. I don't know.

Clusterpluck was $55 a ticket $30 per night camping and $35 for your golf cart for the whole weekend. 2 nights of Vince and Drew and John Stickley Trio, and Albert Simpson playing at the beach while everyone swam made Clusterpluck Reign Supreme in value.

What's my point? Well, you can either bitch and still go, or bitch and don't go. I suggest you all stay home. It gets crowded and maybe ticket prices will go down next year.

I doubt ticket prices will go down. 'nomad' nailed it.

Makes one wonder how much $ Live Nation is saving with all these 2 fers; Panic, Phil, and now Robinson. I understand it's a business but how do you expect to increase your revenue w/o improving the product?
Or maybe they just really don't care as they have bigger fish to fry...
A single Beyonce show averaging $200 per ticket with 45,000 average ticket sale is 9 million alone. Figure $250 per ticket @ Wanee with 20k tickets sold is only is half that and a lot less headache.
I do believe i answered my own question, but no Mule sucks.
