Post Re: Hang on to your hats!
I'm in Dade City; eye came pretty much right over us. Trees down all over town, but fortunately not much major structural damage. The vast majority seemed to miss the nearby houses. Personally, came out unscathed. No damage at my house or my office. Didn't have power from early afternoon Sunday until last night. Gave the grill a helluva workout cooking things as they started thawing. Got really, really hot with no a/c. Ended up sleeping in a hammock one night.

For those who've been, Sertoma Youth Ranch came through fine, with no building damage. They've opened up free of charge for those who had home damage or are without power.

So what I am hearing, lots of property damage, but people are fine....... other than having their worlds turned upside down! Remember to be careful, one step at a time. Be Safe and Merry Wanee !

Rev.....It is probably on another topic.....but the river never came up....we got less than 3 inches of rain.
And as for your refund.....you could have stayed here for free.....and no I would not reimburse you for ANY OF THAT FEE CHARGED. Just kidding....
Marianna was the first city that was outside of the danger zone....and seems everyone wanted to stay here.....All the hotels and campsites were full.....the gym at MHS was used as a safe house (built to standards)....and over 500 people stayed there during the storm. My daughter and her mother went to the school to help feed the crowds. Local citizens and businesses provided enough cots for everyone to have a bed off the floor....and food and drink for them all. We only lost power for maybe 20 minutes at my house.....and then it was right back on. I don't think the school ever lost power....and even then I think they had emergency power.
Other than a few tress down...not much damage.
Rev....the two of you were welcome here...food and drink would have been provided by me.

I picture Volke sitting in his yard, maybe watering his plants, as the hurricane rolled through...Not really getting too excited about it. Maybe periodically riding his bike around checking on people.

...Either that or going full Lt. Dan, standing up on a ladder, flipping the rain off and screaming "YOU CALL THIS A STORM????"

Volke was fine. They never even lost power and he was cooking up slabs of baby back ribs... On a grateful note, we lost power and asked to borrow a battery operated fan. Randy came rolling over here with a generator and a window a/c. Plus CAKE! Totally above and beyond. Love him & Pattie to pieces.
