Willie Sugarcapps - the finest in back porch rootsy swamp music. Amazing musicianship by a south Alabama supergroup, ably led by the amazing Will Kimbrough, and the only-a-tiny-bit-less-amazing Grayson Capps.

Mothers Finest - cuz they're still at it, churning out the old school funk, and I've never seen 'em

The song circle in the music hall at 11:30am on Saturday, with Jim Lauderdale, Verlon Thompson, and Shawn Camp - Jim & Verlon are hysterical together. You'll laugh, you'll cry; by the end of the set, the top half of your head will fall off cuz you're smiling so big. They do this set regularly, and it's a particular favorite of mine, it nearly always gets my personal estimation of Best Festival Set, whenever they do do it.

And Chatham County Line - These guys dress and look like a traditional bluegrass outfit, but there's a big dose of humor, and a slight insanity to their songs. They show up at Riverhawk regularly, but I don't think they've played the Suwannee, at least not in a long time.

Them's the standouts. If you're a SpringFest / MagFester regular, there are the worthy regulars such as Donna the Buffalo and Rev. Jeff Mosier, etc... But the above are dead center in my sights.

Great description of an amazing band! A roots supergroup if you will. Privileged to have seen them a couple of times and the one act making me regret not going to this fest. Grayson: Nola's finest roots player, Will: America's finest roots player, Corky on electric and steel, Savannah's vocals- oh my! If you don't like them you probably shouldn't be at a roots fest...
