Post Soulshine Farm Festival in NC
Is anyone from the forum going to this little camping fest up in Asheville area August 9 thru 11 ? We are from Tampa and decided we need a little break from the Florida summer heat.
Lineup includes Particle, Larry Keel and a bunch of bands I don’t recognize but I’m sure will enjoy:)

Yah, too far for me too. But a break from the heat up in the mountains sure sounds good! :D

Sample these acts, I think they're good:

Malcolm Holcomb - grizzled, world weary / world wise singer-songwriter
Come Back Alice - Tampa's favorite... rock (durr)... see 'em do a Zep tribute
The Screaming J's - raucous back porch goodness... they tore up Springfest several years ago
Ralph Roddenberry - upbeat rockin' songs... THE most positive musician in the biz, this side of Ben Harper
Big Medizen - from down my way, just a mess of damn hippies making good music :)
Nikki Talley - she has a gorgeous voice... great chillaxin' music

Enjoy! Looks like a fine event. 8-)

PS - Love Canon... they do bluegrass versions of all the most annoying songs from the 1980s and thereabouts. Their popularity is inexplicable to me... I cannot abide these fellows, however well-intentioned they seem to be. Fair warning.
:?

Thanks for the suggestions.
Yes Come Back Alice is cool- we are from Tampa so we have seen them a bunch.

I YouTubed Love Canon. Unfortunately acoustic and bluegrass covers of 80s hits have become a thing and it’s fun for a minute at a fest because tipsy people love to sing along. But yeah, it’s a novelty that’s wearing out its welcome.

Anyway, it’s a reasonably pricedand chill-seeming fest. There is access to the Toe River and hiking as well.
