It was soooooooo hot this weekend.

How hot was it?

It was so hot, there was only ONE vendor along the highway selling firewood - and he looked like the Maytag repairman. We bought a pile from him just 'cause I felt sorry for him.

We did still have a fire, because it's against the law to camp & not have one (plus, it's good for the budget to stuff the boys full of hot dogs & smores before going to the stage, so they don't want as much vendor food).

But man, it was sooooooo hot this weekend.

The firewood guys were double-screwed because there was also SO MUCH wood on the ground from the storm.

But yeah, it was friggin hot.

Yup.

Hottest I can remember for an October or March fest. Never put on my long pants. That only happened one time before; that was probably at Roots a year ago.

My buds who set up Sun/Mon prior said that Mon and Tue were brutal. This is one time I am glad I didn't come early. I'm glad I did the Wed motel in Lake City, even though Thur setup wiped me out.

It was a sweaty good time, though! :D

The high temperatures early on were punishing. Even for this Florida home boy. Yes, it made the cold beer slightly better 8-). But any exertion - just got you soaked in sweat...

We left a lot of wood behind when we pulled out of camp yesterday. Altho it wasn't cause we didn't try to burn it all ! It was just Too. Darn. Hot.

Still, as B-Bob said: We had a sweaty good time! :D

My forecast from whomever was totally ass wrong!!!

Monday was brutal. At one time it was 97 degrees with a heat index of well over a hundred......AND NO wind whatsoever......I don't think a leaf moved for 2-3 days. I could only set up a little at a time.....my pants were dripping....and shirt totally wet.
And Tuesday was just as bad.....I would drive my truck around the park just to cool off. Some friends invited me to dinner at a restaurant Tuesday night.....just to have a cool place to sit for a while. At 8:57 I texted a friend...it is 90 degrees right now.
In a tent ....you could not let your arms touch your body...or let your legs touch each other.
I wrote a friend to not come to the park.....she didn't.....but for a different reason.
Wednesday was a little better.....but still hot!

Brutal....I tell you!!!

I pray Hulaween is better than that.....otherwise they will need some emergency stations set up....
