Post Favorite Sets at SOSMP
We all have out favorites........different bands.....different sounds....differing style of music.....

But for me......some of my favorites were:

the Allman Brothers in 2011.....best show ever
Dumpstaphunk....D-phunk does P-funk (maybe 2011?)
Hillbenders playing Tommy....2016 at Roots

Different music ......different styles...all terrific!

What were some of your favorites?
(Oh and I have more.....these came to mind in a hurry)

Even though I'm pretty new to the park and fests I think My Morning Jacket at Hulaween last yr was just such a special set. I still get goosebumps thinking about the whole mainstage crowd singing Easy Like a Sunday Morning together and that giant disco ball.
Also of course Les Brers 2016, it was the first and only time I got to see Butch and Jamioe together

This'll be difficult to narrow down! I would definitely say the three last Allman Brothers sets, because it was Gregg and Butch's Festival after all. But ( and you all know me by now) I do have a list with a NOLA theme.
    1. The New Orleans Radiators
I followed them on their final tour of Florida. Two nights in Ft Lauderdale, then St Pete, then Orlando, then Live Oak 2011.
    2. The Nth Power 2015
Nikki Glaspie on drums.
    3. North Mississippi Allstars with Anders Osborne 2016
    I guess I will wait for more replies before coming up with another list
Merry Wanee

The list is not necessarily limited to three....
I just had a quick three .....
Dr. Dab also contributed one of my faves:
2016 Les Brers........and the 2017 Les Brers was so efffing emotional when Butch's daughter came out and thanked everyone and said how much Butch enjoyed playing in front of the crowds ....

That was 1 of my most emotional moments.....
Listening to her and then singing ....whoa now
and of course...at the top of the emotional had to be
Gregg in 12 when he was too sick to play...they carried him on the stage and then back off.....he came out and sang the Needle and the Damage Done.....to me that was the most emotional thing ever there......but hey....that is just me......
and who could forget the Leon Russell last show there.....while not a great set or performance....Leon talking between songs and then stayed for the encore......terrific.

I'll come up with a more comprehensive list later but by far my favorite set tab sOSMP was The Main Squeeze tsunami set at Hula 1 (or was it Hula 2, they sometimes blur). Right before they shut down the entire fest for the night due to floods (water literally knee high in front of the Peach stage).

Will ever forget that set, that experience, or that entire night.

Yeah, this one blew my mind. And I'm a wizened old fart that has 'seen it all'...

That Pink Talking TurkuFu set of Prince & Bowie tunes this past Wanee was damn epic. They combined four bands, and it wasn't the typical train wreck, when 12 or 15 people get on stage.

Dweezil Zappa's set (Zappa Plays Zappa) at 2015 Wanee knocked me out. Amazing stuff.

And back in ?? 2007? 2006? ... there was a night at MagFest: Derek Trucks Band played, and Jimmy Herring played about half the set with Derek. And then right after that, Col. Bruce played with whatever he was calling his outfit then, Jimmy Herring was in that number, and Derek played most of the set with them. Killer stuff. I don't know if I'm remembering it right... but I have the audience recordings somewhere... ripping good stuff.

~~~~~~~~~~
But there's been so many shows at SOSMP ...
It all rolls into one
And nothing comes for free
There's nothing you can hold
For very long
And when you hear that song
Come crying like the wind
It seems like all this life
Was just a dream
