Wouldn't be surprising if it was an OD. The heroin epidemic is just so huge currently. Here in rural areas of Ohio it is out of control. And it's not even the heroin itself that is killing thousands- it's the synthetic opiate fentanyl that is being used to cut the H.
Fentanyl is supposedly 50 times more potent than pure heroin. Locally, two cops had to be revived with the antidote Narcan after simply touching some pure fentanyl with their finger...

Yep. I think you may have hit it. Something doesnt add up in the story, and an OD would fill in 'the blanks'.

If there were a way to access the autopsy we would know for sure, it sounds like an O.D. to me, sad but true to life in 2017.

I am guessing a 'friend' suspected, and the 'fellow festival attendee(s)' that told them the man was in the hospital knew for sure.

Hopefully we will see. Be nice to have resolution.

I believe getting from OD, to floating in the lake, would require "assistance". If so, those friends are anything but. If not, it may have been intoxicated swimming, which led to drowning?

Getting "stoned" on any substance and wandering into lake is easy to understand. With a feeling of emotional excitement, on a "high", one might do some stupid stuff! Most of us get to live to talk about it ! Bad decisions make good stories!

I'm with ArmeDane and eric on this one. OD? Maybe... Drowning? Probably... Either way, it's all wrong...
