Post Park Security
Hey everyone! Haven't been to a festival out at the Suwannee Music Park yet, and I'm just curious how festival security is there. Drug road blocks? Drug dogs at entrance? I'm sure undercovers will be out and about around some of the larger camp/party areas, just wondering how the rest of security typically is. Thanks and much love!

The Forum Admin is actually L.E.O. Ex-Duval County Cyber Crime Division. He's a nice guy, but he He is probably cross referencing your URL with your personal info and creating a description of your vehicle and putting out a B.O.L.O right now. I would delete this.

Lol cmon dont scare the dude....

Ive been going for years. Ive never seen an arrest or a hassle. Its pretty loosey goosey as long as you use common sense.

Its possible that they might be more careful with drunk golf carters, which is basically 80% of em, due to the accident from last year

Have fun

Most people using common sense will be fine, however there are more arrest here than other festivals. Don't expect an open air drug market like you see at other jamband festivals.

Lol. I'm not asking for entrepreneurial reasons, just talking about private use. But thanks, I appreciate the serious replies.

Yes. Some ten years ago they were very numerous and aggressive ... the last several years I haven't seen them so much, but they're around. I chased a couple out of our camp a few years ago.

Absolutely NOT TRUE. Compare any SOSMP fest with the anti-drug effort at Okeechobee Fest, which netted a hundred arrests, truckloads of contraband in the amnesty boxes, and involved 6-7 law enforcement agencies. Go to the last few years of records; just handfuls of people get arrested at SOSMP events.

Indeed. This doesn't exist at SOSMP.

Folks: I don't partake; it's been decades. But I do take a very libertarian outlook on personal use ... if you aren't harming others, it's nobody's business if you do ingest whatever it is that you enjoy. IMO.

That said, there are laws. And the LEOs do enforce the laws.

Two rules that will keep you from having an unplanned trip to the local jail:

* Don't take candy from strangers ...IOW, do not buy or sell with people you don't know.

* Don't partake out in the open, where anyone paying attention might see it. There's people that do watch, and if it's out in the open, that's a no-no, and that's crossing a very well established line at the park.

Plan ahead, and you can have a great time. The bottom line for me is:

No arrests?

No visits to the ER?

Then you've had a successful festival
