 Re: Johnny Winter
I saw Johnny for the first time at the Laurel (MD) Pop Festival in 1969. Here was the line-up for the first day:
Buddy Guy Edwin Hawkins Singers ("Oh, Happy Day") Jethro Tull (nobody had any idea who they were! We do now!) Al Kooper & 20-piece orchestra Johnny Winter with Tommy Shannon & John Turner Led Zeppelin
Got home at 2:30. Grounded for second day (Zappa, Guess Who, Jeff Beck, Sly)
Second time was at the Electric Factory in Philly night before Hallowe'en 1970 -- Johnny Winter And!!!!

 Re: Johnny Winter
JOHNNY WINTER Meet and Greet/Autograph Signing! Park Ave CD's 2916 Corrine Dr. Orlando, Florida 32803
Meet the legendary JOHNNY WINTER before his show later that night at The Plaza 'Live'! Voted one of the world's top 100 guitarists by Rolling Stone magazine, Winter has been a guitar hero without equal. Signing with Columbia Records in 1969, he immediately laid out the blueprint for his fresh take on classic blues with a powerful combination of authentic Texas funk and his own high energy interpretation. His latest, highly-acclaimed release, “Roots” (Megaforce/Sony), and recent performance on The David Letterman Show have only added to his Texas-sized reputation. Performing now with a renewed vigor and fire to say that he is "back" would be an understatement; in fact, he never left. He is just better than ever.
