Re: What was your LAST show? Show reviews
Well, have not been on the internet much, out enjoying life. Like friday's concert with Acoustic Alchemy.
Held in the smaller (~275 seat) venue at the King Center, the show has been sold out for weeks. The promoter is a miracle worker, however.
He promised that he had 4-5 seats available, and **possibly** ones up front. Well, the day before show he informed me that those were used.
Oh well, back row it is. Better than no seat.
We got there early, and there was some mixup at the ticket booth. The sale went through, then the promoter showed up and had to change things, they needed my card again, blah blah blah. That was my version. Grantgirl
was paying attention however.
She filled me in on 'The Rest of the Story'.
What I DID NOT realize at the time was that the promoter had added seats for us.
Row A was the front row, and the he created another... AA-1 and AA-2.
They had to create those tickets, then print them just for us.
We were stage right, on the corner. EXCELLENT SEATS
But...now recording was a problem. I was behind the right PA tower, and close to the back of the floor monitors. I made a quick choice, and walked up to the front center of the stage. Placed my recorder aiming at the band, picked a level to record at, and hit start. Then walk away....no checking levels on this gig!
The concert was wonderful, excellent sound and performance. Bass player was right in front of us, and fun to watch.
The recording came out AUD A++. We bought the new 'Live in London' double CD from the band, and I will put my recording right with it in terms of sound quality. Beyond
the commercial in content because I can hear Grantgirl whooping it up.
And I got to interact with the band also, SO cool to have that stuff on a recording. Along with tickets AA-1 and AA-2 signed by all the members of the band. Funfunfunfunfunfun.
OK, before my ADHD kicks in and I forget all about it... links.. HEY LOOK! a squirrel....
